Do blogs have their own traits? Their owners definitely have.
My blog is more than a communiqué board or a chat forum. It’s a place where I can watch my words, my ideas; my opinions take shape and be shaped in turn by the others who visit. I develop the theme, the header, and the widgets to depict a certain image of myself. Blog gets a handle and username. Words, pictures, audio and video fill it.
I’ve own a single blog, with 350+ posts in it and each post has a different side of me.
The present blog remains my longest surviving try-out in books, food, fashion, relationships and my random writings, is the closest to the real me since it has essentially mirrored every change in my life from the minor weekly/monthly mood changes to the big sweeping changes that come with age and experience.
So do you bring a part of yourself to your blog each day? Or do you create something new each time you touch it? Is it an extension of your personality, an expression of something that doesn’t usually surface or an experiment to see what it would be like to be someone else? What’s your blog to you?
I write a lot, which keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. There is always something to write about, always a new story to craft. Not writing, for me, is like trying to hold back a sneeze. Learning to write was the most powerful influence in my life. I can still remember the awe I felt when I realized I could put real words onto paper and tell out a story. From that first ‘a-ha’ moment I knew I wanted to write.
