The Calling – Unleash Your True Self

Author of the national best seller, “I Am Another You”, Priya Kumar’s books have won six international awards. She is an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker, who has inspired over a million people across the globe toward peak performance through her Personal Breakthrough Workshops. Her writing, like her speaking, is an extension of her purpose-to make people’s lives better. The Calling is a spiritual adventure. It is an encounter with the truth, the wisdom and the force that is innate to us all. At the brink of a divorce and personal breakdown, Arjun took a trip into the heart of the Himalayas, on the insistence of a sadhu, who predicted that the journey up to Hemkund Sahib would align him to his purpose and change his life forever. At every turn the mountains holds secrets and tests that urge Arjun to evolve into the person he had denied to be – himself. Pretenses, falsities, confusions and untruths fall apart as Arjun is forced to confront the mess he had created in his life. What started off as an opportunity to escape reality, turned out to be an opportunity to escape from the dwindling spiral of self-created misery. Filled with spiritual insights and sprinkled with light humor, this story will help you find your calling, your voice and who knows, even your true self.

Review: I thank author Priya kumar for sending me a copy of her book The calling for a read and review. I am highly dazed with her book as this is for the first time I have read her and she has not failed to stir me and I am sure whoever reads her books will definitely feel the same. I thought it must be another book on motivation but it did not turn out to be one like that. It is a journey in which you can communicate so many examples to our real life. It teaches not to mess up the precious relationships one has in their lives and it emphasizes on the significance of the ability to poise personal and professional life equally. This book focuses to answers all those unanswered questions we all have about ourselves and our lives. There are very good words explaining all those. The author Priya has used words which have pragmatic meanings rather than the dictionary meanings in her sentences. The book says that happiness is in doing, happiness is in keep on doing selflessly and I truly agree to this point. This book is truly inspirational and keep you going, no matter what. A major change is certain after you finish reading the book and it served as a food for thought for me. The author is and has done an amazing effort in motivating people positively, wishing you good luck and please carry on the good work.
