I consider myself fairly organized and I live an organized life and I am really #Thankful for this habit of mine. Writing down and making mental note of my top 3 tasks to get done for the day. Everything else seems to fall into place if I do that. The single, simplest thing I do to stay personally organized is to put whatever tool, item, clothing, bag, hairbrush etc., away immediately after using it. I always know where everything and anything is so I never waste time looking for something. Very efficient. I could tell a stranger where to find anything in my home. I’ve found that the easiest way to organize myself, my days and so forth is a good journal, that I divide into four sections. I make a list my actual running to do list for today, next is grocery list, or list of things I must purchase. And a page for notes such as calls I made, who I spoke to, appointment dates. If I’m told to call back on Monday, then I note that in my journal. I carry my paper task list with me everywhere, so I can make notes at any given moment. Write down, execute and tidy up on the way. These are is my organization bible. I’ve been living that way since I was a teenager and I can say that I’m an organized person. I find having a specific list for today helps push me to get the important things done in a timely manner. Laundry is simple to put away because my closets and dressers are organized, bills are easy to pay because they are all in one place, cleaning up books or my desk only takes a couple of minutes because there is a system in place for them. Ah the email inbox. While most of us spend way more than 30 minutes looking at our inbox every day, I don’t necessarily spend 30 minutes taking care of emails — responding to them and clearing them out, one by one instantly is what I do. I never leave dishes in the sink, doing this simple task every day is a great way to feel like I’ve done something small to keep my space neat and organized. I fully believe that anyone who has some bit (large or small) of organization in their life should be #Thankful for this good habit. Being organized saves my time, money and sanity. It reduces my stress as everything is written and planned in advanced and it definitely allows me to enjoy and lead my life in a better way.
Why dont you take a few minutes to write down the reasons why you are thankful for being organized? Go one step further and post them in the comments below.
