Blogging Goals 2017

Blogging is a lot of fun for me, but it also takes a lot of work and commitment, for me, it’s important to set goals every time, because this way I am always working towards something, let’s face it, you have to know what you are aiming at in order to achieve! And as we fast approach the end of this great year, it’s natural to do some reassessing in our blogging lives.
Though every blogger may blog differently, we do have something in common, we need to form goals for our blogs. I believe that the most important thing about setting goals is making them realistic, solid and achievable.

1. My editorial calendar is the most important thing when it comes to blogging regularly. I make a rough plan of my content every month and I try to stay ahead of the schedule at all times. In 2017, I want to continue this habit.
2. I want to analyse what’s worked. I always look at my metrics before jumping head into something new, I love to see what you guys like the most and I try to write more about those subjects.
3. I want to publish another eBook. eBooks completely changed the way we read and publish books, it’s really amazing! My first e-book was super successfully. I hope 2nd book crosses this in terms of content and design.
4. I want to host and write guest posts more than I did in 2016.
5. I would celebrate my blog’s first year birthday grandly and host a nice giveaway. Who doesn’t love free stuff and a thank you note from me for being my reader.
6. I set up my Google Analytics this year, but whenever I looked at it, it was just a wild mess of stats and numbers. But now that I have this new job, I learn a lot about it all. In 2017, I want to learn even more and really use those tools to grow my blog.
7. I hit 20,000 page views in a month a while back and have been staying in that range pretty consistently. That felt like a HUGE milestone and I’m hoping I can somehow push that to 40,000 in 2017.
8. I admit it. I enjoy making money from my blog. I don’t make a lot. An occasional sponsored post, where I actually get paid money to write. Brands who will pay to get an honest review. A lot more “free” product in exchange for a review. My advertising (which I try to keep to a minimum) brings in some money.
9. I feel like photography is a never-ending work in progress. There are always new and better ways to do photography. Eventually, I would LOVE to take a photography course. But, alas, since that’s not in the budget right now, I just have to stick with learning through other people online.
10. Followers. This one is a never-ending effort. Yet again, I don’t want to lose sight of what’s important, when it comes to gaining followers. I want to gain followers who will actually stick around. “Loose” following isn’t what’s going to get the blog read and shared. I also need to make sure my content is up to par, in order to make people want to stick around.

I’d love to know your goals for next year! What are your blogging goals?
