Sunday Featured Blogger #4

With the start of this month May, I am starting a new, weekly series, on my blog.  In it I am featuring 20 bloggers for 20 Sundays starting from today till September 2017.

The Blogger to be featured today is Vasantha Vivek

Can you tell me a little about yourself and your blog – mentioning something known and unknown to the readers?

I am Vasantha Vivek. I am a happy woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, friend, mentor, seeker, lover. I am a teacher by profession. I was a professor at an Engineering College for nearly 15 years. Teaching is my passion. Reading is my love. Cooking is my heart. I enjoy reading and writing very much. Now I’m blogging about relationship, love, family, parenting and social issues at My Sweet Nothings.  I feel proud and happy to feature many of my fellow mommy bloggers in “This Mom’s Life” – guest post series. Also I write articles for Indian Moms Connect, Monsoon Breeze, Parentous, Women’s Web, mycity4kids and World Of Moms. Also I have coauthored a book titled “100 Moms One Journey” and an e-magazine titled “Raising World children”.

Tell me about some of the people you’ve met while working on your blog or through blogging communities?

I love to meet people both at real and virtual. I feel bloggers’ meet is fantastic. I was blessed to meet one of my blogger friends for the first time during February of this year. I would cherish this first blogger meet for my lifetime. I was really thrilled and excited to meet Kala of relax-N-rave. She made our day with her pleasant smile, unconditional love and lot of affection. I would add meeting of two friends paved the path for the friendship of two families.

What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog? You can tell me about your usual day routine.

I will be reading books, magazines or blogs. Also I may cook something special for my family. I will be doing my yoga and meditation practices. Also I will be happy on doing some random acts of kindness.

Everyone has a favourite/least favourite post. Tell me about your best and worst post and why?

Always I would prefer my “This Mom’s Life” – guest post series as my best post. Since I started this series to feature my mommy blogger friends even before I came to know the significance and importance of guest posts. By this series, I have featured nearly 26 mom bloggers on my blog. Feeling proud about that. And I never consider any of my posts as a worst post. Since they are born out of my feelings as words. I treat every post of mine as my child. So naturally no mom would consider their kids as worst.

Name some of the bloggers – at least 3 of your favourites, whom you look up to and why?

Anamika of thebespectacledmother for she’s my other part. We do have many resemblances both on life and writing. She’s my best firend on this blogosphere and I love to meet her in person very soon. Shailaja of Diary Of Doting Mom. Her writings are powerful and abundant of life values. Yet she writes very friendly and simple. She’s my inspiration on blogging. Romila of Novemberschild. We both are November’s children. I love her for her friendliness and boldness. Her blog speaks her heart. She’s very helping for newbie bloggers.

Tell me about your proudest achievement(s)? (Related to Blogging)

I just started my blog as a hobby during 2014. Now my blog has a wider reach of 480 followers after getting self hosted during last November. I feel proud on posting nearly 500 posts so far. I aspire to be a published author this year.

If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?

Write your heart out. Keep quality of your posts at higher priority than the quantity of posts. Also be firm in writing your unique content. Be patient. Happily connect with more people. Read many blogs.

I am sure you know me as a blogger or your friend on social media or may be even as a person in real so how would you rate my writings and tell me your honest opinion on me – this would serve as a testimonial (A new section on my blog where I would put these good words…or maybe the bad ones too)

Romila, really feeling blessed to find you on this blogosphere. You are my best friend to be counted for all my needs. I adore your writings. You inspire every blogger through your posts. Keep this spirit and courage always. You are an awesome blogger with participation on A to Z challenge for two consecutive years. I enjoyed your micro poems and felt proud on reviewing your second e=book on micro poems. Keep growing and Keep spreading love.

About the Author

I write a lot, which keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. There is always something to write about, always a new story to craft. Not writing, for me, is like trying to hold back a sneeze. Learning to write was the most powerful influence in my life. I can still remember the awe I felt when I realized I could put real words onto paper and tell out a story. From that first ‘a-ha’ moment I knew I wanted to write.
