Epigamia Yogurt is the perfect thing to replace dessert cravings. I love dessert – I mean I can eat it after a meal, even before, or even as a meal! When I decided to cut short sweets and eat more healthy things, Epigamia Yogurt happened to me. I thank Drum Foods for sending me yogurts and snack packs. This is Greek Yogurt – in simple terms, it’s yogurt that has been strained to remove it’s liquid so that what is leftover is the creamy stuff. That’s how it differs even with regular flavored or fruit based yogurt. Internationally, moving to Greek Yogurt is quite a thing now – that’s because it claims to have more protein and less carbs than regular yogurt. Epigamia Yogurt is one of the only few greek yogurt brands available in India at the moment.
Price: Rs.38 for flavored and Rs.35 for plain
Ingredients: It does contain permitted natural color and permitted added flavors. But it is free from preservative and artificial flavors. It does contain added sugar.
Flavors Available: Natural, strawberry, blueberry, honey and banana, mulberry, alphonso mango
I tried all the flavors from the Epigamia Yogurt range and found all of them, even the plain one to be really rich and creamy. The yogurt also somehow feels slightly lighter than regular yogurt and personally for me actually does better than any other flavored yogurt. The fruit flavored ones are really delicious – you can expect the entire taste of the fruit bursting in your mouth, with the actual tang and zing actually associated with the fruit. And they don’t feel overly sweet like ice cream does sometimes. The uniqueness of Epigamia greek yogurt is that it contains no preservatives and artificial flavours and has a truly natural taste. Real fruit pulp is used and some amount of sugar is added to it. The other competitive brands contain additives and preservatives, which is also a scoring point for this brand of yogurt.
Moreover, this product is free from chemicals that are often used in industrial preparations to thicken it. It is also nutrient dense. A 90g serve of Epigamia greek yogurt provides 140mg calcium and and 6g of protein. The live culture of bacteria (contains S.Thermophilus, Lactobacilus bulgaris), mentioned among the ingredients, lends it a unique, mildly tangy unique flavour. The acidity of the product is controlled by arresting the fermentation process (by freezing) and additionally by removing the whey water. Epigamia Yogurt is more expensive than other flavored or plain yogurt available in the market, but it is a tastier and healthier option. Also, if like me you are trying to use this to replace dessert cravings, then it does work out cheaper as well. The one flavor that you absolutely must try is Mango.
Coming to the other added benefit is the Epigamia Snack Pack brings an innovative solution to curb the 5:00 pm hunger. The Snack Pack was conceptualized keeping in mind a legacy of oily and fried snacks in the face of shifting consumer patterns towards seeking a healthier lifestyle. With the introduction of unconventional combinations like Jalapeño Greek Yogurt with Fibre-Rich Barley Puffs, Cream and Onion Greek Yogurt with Fibre-Rich Barley Puffs, Mango Greek Yogurt with Chunky Granola, and Strawberry Greek Yogurt with Chunky Granola, the Snack Pack is sure to become a crowd favourite. The Snack Packs, which consist of 100 gm of yogurt along with the mix-in pack and a spoon for consuming at convenience, are priced at Rs 50 – Rs 60. I loved the Mango flavor in this too. The Epigamia Snack Pack, with its unique flavours and nutritional benefits of high protein and high fibre, is a no-compromise snack that provides the perfect blend of health, taste and texture.
Yogurt is an excellent snack option that helps you maintain a balanced diet throughout the day. Eating yogurt can help you with your weight-related goals, whether to lose weight or keep the weight off. Yogurt is rich in calcium and potassium, two nutrients of concern of our daily life and with Epigamia all these are possible to achieve. So what are you waiting for now, go to your nearest super market and you will find these super tasty yogurts waiting for you.
I write a lot, which keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. There is always something to write about, always a new story to craft. Not writing, for me, is like trying to hold back a sneeze. Learning to write was the most powerful influence in my life. I can still remember the awe I felt when I realized I could put real words onto paper and tell out a story. From that first ‘a-ha’ moment I knew I wanted to write.
