Random occupies the void by Siddhartha Shankar Mishra

This is a random piece. What to pen and what not, my mind is pregnant with ideas and the pen has to ejaculate. Brain hammering is a must. Everything in life has a purpose. Every pain has a purpose. Every Rock Bottom has a purpose. And every Failure has a purpose. So no regrets. Everything teaches us.

Awareness is an integral part of life. We all have our own space. Sometimes we need to unclutter our inner … cleaning the slate before we head to sleep is an important aspect of life. It is a lifestyle rather. A daily moral inventory – was I honest today? Did my behaviour was meant to hurt anyone? or was my justified criticism a ego game or was meant to make someone low ? I beg apology to everybody I hurt and I forgive myself too. When i listen to the voice of my conscience, i clear many hurdles irrespective of impediments.

Everybody has a different perspective of life. There is pleasure and pain. Roadblocks and Pitfalls. How do we visualize them is the question and that is wisdom. According to me Wisdom never comes from success at least not in my life. It comes from road blocks, rock bottoms, pitfalls and incredible failures in life. That makes one rich. Wisdom is practical knowledge and practical understanding.

I admire and get inspired by One Atal Bihari Bjapayee poem

“Let the adversities strike,Let there be catastrophes dire,Let there be embers under our soles,Let it shower flare,With that fire in our hands,Smiling, we have to burn,We have to move forward, together!”

Suffering is a sadhana. I take it in a positive way. We suffer from our infirmity of will. We always want a comfortable zone, always to be cocooned and never try to come out from the comfort zone. Acceptance is important in life. One-pointedness – whatever pain or pleasure comes, i will accept it. That single minded focus will alleviate us. Let me tell you my story – and i have suffered a lot for my honesty.

My Experience — 10 years back I was fighting a case with one my colleague on behalf of the students pursuing MBA distant learning ICFAI, sambalpur. The ICFAI, duped the money of the students and wanted to shift the institute to some other place. On ICFAI side other associate of Lawyers and they thrive under a political umbrella, there Chief is a National Secretary of prominent national party, started creating delays… giving time petitions. I was calmly witnessing everything. They gave number of pleas that they were busy in some other courts and couldn’t come, so time may be allowed. I immediately inquired whether the concerned lawyer was in the mentioned court or not. However, after facing much of obstacles I won the cases & the students recovered there hard earned money. They assaulted me because I was creating obstacles in their path. They manipulate judiciary by putting pressure on the lower court through Justices at the upper court. They do under table business. Whenever before approaching for a case, I pray to God , whether I am fighting for a cause or just for earning money. Since 10 years I am working on my conscience. And they assaulted me for many wrong reasons. I suffered a lot. I have faith on my God’s timing. The emphasis is more on winning the case rather than ensuring that justice has been done. It is more important to see how smartly the case has been presented and how strong were the support arguments to influence the concerned honourable judge.

I was addicted to alcohol too. And I am grateful to my parents that they had implanted a spiritual seed in me when I was a kid. That worked in my subconscious level. It is a long story. Someday I will write on it. I understood a God of my understanding. Faith is the way only. Surrender happens.

A quote by Osho that really brought an awakening in me : “Be grateful to everyone, because everybody is creating a space for you to be transformed – even those who think they are obstructing you, even those whom you think are enemies. Your friends, your enemies, good people and bad people, favourable circumstances, unfavourable circumstances – all together they are creating the context in which you can be transformed and become a Buddha. Be grateful to all. To those who have helped, to those who have hindered, to those who have been indifferent. Be grateful to all, because altogether they are creating the contexts in which Buddhas are born – in which you can become a Buddha.”

Lt President Abdul kalam said, “ Defeat the defeatist in you.”

One day I was sitting before the Bay of Bengal and thought cropped up , “The samsaric cycle is never ending – PUNARAPI JANANNAM PUNARAPI MARANAM , PUNARAPI JANANI JATHARE SAYANAM, IHA SAMSARE BAHU DUSTARE , KRPAYA PARE PAHI MURARE ( Sri Bhaja Govindam )

Let the random take me to many dimensions of life.

About the Author

I write a lot, which keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. There is always something to write about, always a new story to craft. Not writing, for me, is like trying to hold back a sneeze. Learning to write was the most powerful influence in my life. I can still remember the awe I felt when I realized I could put real words onto paper and tell out a story. From that first ‘a-ha’ moment I knew I wanted to write.
